Microdermal and Surface piercing

Microdermal is a new generation of body jewelry that appeared a few years ago. It is also called dermal, dermal anchor, or single-point piercing, because a piece of jewelry is implanted that does not have an exit point. This technique allows us to wear body jewelry in places where piercing would not traditionally be possible, such as the collarbone, hands, back or neck.

The peculiarity of the jewelry is that it can be placed anywhere on the body, where there is a few millimeters of skin surface where the jewelry base is implanted.

Its structure is simple: a small implant or jewelry base is placed under the skin, which is usually made of titanium or other body-safe material, and the jewelry, which lies on the surface of the skin, is wrapped in this base. After healing, we can easily and painlessly change the jewelry heads. Microdermal piercings can be customized with a variety of jewelry, by attaching different ornaments, beads, crystals or shapes. This allows body jewelry to have a unique look and personalization.

It is also attractive as a unique piece of jewelry, but there are those who dream of a pattern consisting of several pieces, and it can also highlight our existing tattoo very well.

Its further developed version is the surface piercing, which combines the characteristics of traditional jewelry and piercings implanted in the skin, which is located on the surface of the skin so that only a part of it is visible. It can usually be located anywhere on the body, but the areas of the face, neck, abdomen, chest and back are often chosen. Its characteristic feature is its location on the surface of the body, which allows the body jewelry to be only partially visible. Surface piercings usually come in the form of a small stud or ball on the surface of the skin and go under the skin to hold the body jewelry in place.
