Tongue and lip piercing care is extremely important in order to prevent infections and promote healing. Here are some steps for aftercare of tongue and lip piercings:

  • Special mouthwash: Buy special mouthwash (Easy piercing) or Phlogosol, Corsodyl, which you can use to clean tongue and lip piercings. Mouthwash helps to disinfect and relieve irritation. Gargle intensively 2-3 times a day and after every smoking session.
  • Clean your mouth: Brush your teeth thoroughly, paying special attention to your tongue and the piercing area. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a gentle toothpaste. This helps remove food debris and bacteria.
  • Clean the piercing: Carefully clean the piercing from plaque with circular movements. Be careful not to move or rotate the piercing too much.
  • Avoid foods or drinks that may irritate the piercing: Avoid hot, cold, spicy, carbonated or hard foods, as well as dairy products and ice cream, alcohol or smoking during the healing period.
  • Watch what you eat and drink: Try to eat and drink carefully during your recovery. Avoid taking large bites or intense chewing, which can damage or irritate the piercing.
  • Avoid moving the piercing: Do not play with, chew on, move or twist the piercing during healing, as this can slow healing.

It is important to always follow the specific instructions given by the piercing salon and listen to your body’s signals during healing.
